Two eagles and a hawk were perched in a tree together and then, this eagle lifted off the branch and gracefully soared through the air.

Sugar Creek Horse https://www.jerlynjonesphotography.com/blog/2021/12/sugar-creek-horse My eyes grew wide and my heart raced when I saw this gorgeous horse! The colors of its face against the landscape drew me in at first sight. There was such depth to its eyes and I felt like if I could touch its face, it would be so smooth and soft. I grew up riding horses. Every Sunday my family would spend the afternoon riding together.

Backroads Farm https://www.jerlynjonesphotography.com/blog/2021/9/backroads-farm Fields, farms, barns, and backroads

This isn't my barn, but when I saw it, it reminded me of growing up on the farm. Walking through the fields, picking daisies (my favorite), climbing trees and picking persimmons in the woods, driving the tractor to check on fences, feeding livestock in the winter, lying in the back of the truck in the middle of the hayfield at night watching the stars, riding horses, feeding the chickens, and trying not to step on snakes when I was barefoot (which was most always), making hay tunnels in the barn loft, listening to the coyotes howl at night, I could go on and on.

Prairie Stroll Flower Bee Embrace https://www.jerlynjonesphotography.com/blog/2021/9/prairie-stroll-flower-bee-embrace

An early evening stroll through our prairie field brought me to this beautiful bee gracefully embracing the petals of the ashy sunflower.

Bear Teeth https://www.jerlynjonesphotography.com/blog/2021/7/bear-teeth This mama black bear and her cubs climbed this pine tree and found branches to take a morning break away from people. You need to look up and around you when you're hiking!

Bison Swimming https://www.jerlynjonesphotography.com/blog/2021/3/bison-swimming Swimming Bison YellowstoneSwimming Bison YellowstoneThe river was deep enough that this bison had only its head and tail above the water as it swam. Bison are one of my favorite animals to photograph. They are so strong and powerful, but cool, calm, and tranquil, too. Here's the back story to this photo I took:

I watched this bison saunter up to the river's edge...walk into the water and keep walking until the river became so deep it had to swim...before long, all you could see was the bison's head, shoulders, and tail! It was quite a sight.
